How to Install Mouse Toggle on Fire TV/ FireStick

Certain Android applications are meant for touch devices and do not function properly on your remote-controlled Fire TV Stick device. This takes away some good apps from FireStick users. The main reason you are unable to use such applications is that they are not compatible with your remote Amazon FireStick.

However, if you could use a mouse with FireStick, you might be able to make some of these apps work. Without connecting a physical mouse to it, you could get mouse pointer on your FireStick interface. The Mouse Toggle app is all you need. We’ll learn how to install the Mouse Toggle on FireStick in this tutorial.

Use the navigation buttons on your remote to manoeuvre the mouse pointer. To click an object, simply hover the pointer over it and press the Select button on the Fire TV Stick remote.

Step 6: A side-loader app is a very first thing you need. FireStick does not allow files to be downloaded directly to the browser. I recommend Downloader app. For FireStick, it’s a very effective side-loading tool. Install and launch Downloader on FireStick. This app can be easily accessed from the Amazon Store.

Step 7: Downloader’s main screen looks like this. As you can see, you have already clicked the Home option on the left. There is a field on the right where you can enter the source URL from where Mouse Toggle will be downloaded. Click on this URL field.

All applications you install on FireStick can be accessed from the Your apps & Channels section. You can also access the Mouse Toggle on FireStick. Here’s how you can get there.

  • Hold and press Home on your remote FireStick for about five seconds.
  • When the menu screen is displayed click Apps.
  • You’ll find the Mouse Toggle app in your Apps & Channels.

Please note that your icon on the bottom of your apps & channels will appear when you install an app. Another point to note is that the apps that have been installed recently do not appear on your FireStick home screen.

To move any app to home-screen, select the app icon in the Your Apps & Channels section and press the menu key on the remote. Now click Move and move the icon to one of the top rows.

Now I will show you how to use the Mouse Toggle.

  • In order to make Mouse Toggle app work, ADB Debugging must be ON. Here is how you can turn it ON:

  • All you need to do is press the Play/Pause button twice on your Amazon FireStick remote to display the mouse pointer.
  • I did that and over the menu, I manoeuvred the mouse pointer. Now to click the menu, I just have to press the Select button on the remote.
